What to seeThe Piccolo Chianti hotel is in an excellent location for visiting both Siena and the other historical cities nearby. To reach the centre of Siena you can drive, or ask at Reception for advice on which bus to take. They stop just a few metres from the hotel, and taxis into town cost just a few Euros. The bus stop for buses to Florence is located 50 metres from our hotel. In less than an hour the bus drops you right in the centre of Florence.
The whole Chianti area is very interesting to visit, to get there just join the main Siena-Firenze road for a few kilometers. You can visit the castle of Monteriggioni and the towns of Colle val d’Elsa, San Gimignano, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Gaole in Chianti.
But to get to the Val d’Orcia area you need to take the Siena-Bettole road. After about ten kilometers you will see the distinctive landscape of the Crete Senesi, and then the abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, and further on the medieval towns of Montalcino and Pienza.
The geographical position of Siena makes our hotel a strategic base for people wishing to visit both Siena, and other places equally rich in history, culture and art, for example: San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Volterra and many else besides.
